The developer bid for Chobham Manor was selected ahead of rival submissions by Barratt and Countryside.
A formal announcement naming Taylor Woodrow is expected next week paving the way to start work on the 800 homes scheme once the games is finished, with the first homes to be ready by the end of 2014.
It is one of five neighbourhoods to be developed on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with up to 8,000 new homes being built over the next 20 years, in addition to East Village.
Located between the Athletes’ Village and the VeloPark, Chobham Manor has been designed as a traditional low-rise family neighbourhood of terraced and mews houses.
Around 40% will be houses with gardens – amounting to almost a quarter of the total number of new houses registered in London last year.
Andrew Altman, Chief Executive of the Olympic Park Legacy Company, said: “Chobham Manor will set the benchmark for quality design and sustainable living on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.”
800 homes will be built to form the new Chobham Manor neighbourhood
