The M+W Group is main contractor on the job being funded by The University of Manchester, Cancer Research UK and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
FK will start on site this month alongside M+W Group and key project partner Pochin Construction to install 2,500m2 of rain screen cladding, 1000m2 of the high-tech Bauder flat roof system and 500m2 of zinc roofing.
When the new building is finished next summer it will house 250 staff including 150 University scientists whose research will focus on understanding how cancer starts, develops and progresses.
Francis Keenan, managing director of the FK Group, said: “This is a fantastic, high-profile project to be appointed to and we are proud to be involved with the creation of one of the world’s leading cancer research centres.
“It’s a challenging project due to its specialised nature and scale.
“However, we have undergone a 20-week design and lead in period and I am confident that our highly skilled site team will deliver on time and to the budget.”
