The 1 New Street Square project will see 270,000 sq ft of office space together with new restaurants and shops built on the site of the International Press Centre on Shoe Lane.
It is the third major office win for Skanska over its major London rivals and a major boost for the London project team.
Skanska signed Land Secs’ £260m 1 and 2 New Ludgate scheme and the £500m Scalpel office tower project in Lime Street last year. Both building contracts are worth over £100m.
The New Street Square project involves building two flat-iron or wedged-shaped interlinked buildings rising to 16 and 14 storeys.
AECOM is on board as mechanical and electrical consultant, with Waterman acting as structural consultant in the Mid-town job.
