The job will entail doubling rail capacity between Dr Day’s Junction to Filton Abbey Wood Station by raising the route from two tracks to four.
Its three-year contract includes the replacement or enhancement of 17 structures along the 15km route, including four bridge reconstructions for electrification clearance and the refurbishment of two stations.
The Filton Four Tracks projects will greatly improve the capacity of Network Rail’s operations in the area.
Richard Hogg, Project Director from Taylor Woodrow, said: “This scheme is essential to deliver Network Rail’s vision of improving the Great Western Railway Network to help boost the local economy.”
