The £7m, 60-bed care home at Park View Gardens in Barrow for people with dementia will now open at the end of the year.
Simon Phillips, regional managing director of Esh Border Construction, said: “We have a good relationship with Cumbria County Council and are delighted to be chosen to ensure that this important community project is completed.
“We will be working closely with Cumbria County Council to ensure we complete the project with the minimum disruption.
“We are committed to seeking to work with as many sub-contractors from the original contract as we are able and re-start the project as soon as possible.”
An estimated £800,000 to £1m of work remains on the property before it is completed.
