The Dumfries Learning Town project will see the redevelopment of Dumfries and Galloway’s schools to deliver education on a whole town basis.
This will involve construction of six new education facilities including primary and secondary schools, an innovative central hub and the redevelopment of four education outlets.
The project has an estimated budget of £100m split into two phases.

Phase 1
– New Build Learning Hub (An innovative centre of excellence used by all schools).
– New Build North West Cluster including Maxwelltown High School, Lochside Primary and St Ninians Primary.
– Redevelopment of St Joseph’s College.
Phase 2
– New Build North East Cluster including Dumfries High School and Noblehill Primary School and the David Keswick Centre.
– Redevelopment of Dumfries Academy, Loreburn Primary and Laurieknowe Primary.
Work on the Stage 1 Design has commenced with the Graham lead team including Sheppard Robson, Holmes Miller and CRGP architects.
