The Glasgow-based firm traded as Hunter Demolition and employed around 50 staff at its peak, turning over up to £7m.
It was well known as one of Scotland’s longest established demolition specialists after trading for over 70 years and also operated in northern England.
According to website Demolition News Hunter was forced to appoint a liquidator following a protracted battle with HM Revenue & Customs, which petitioned for the firm to be wound up by the Glasgow Sheriff Court.
The appointed insolvency practitioner is French Duncan LLP in Hamilton.
