The 95-home Magna development is the first partnership between Hill and Homerton College, and is located around the corner from the house builder’s flagship CB1 developments, Ceres and Vesta around the city’s station.
Deborah Griffin, Bursar of Homerton College, said: “We chose to partner with Hill on this development as we wanted to create an exceptional residential development. As the College will be the freeholder and neighbours it was important that we could be proud of the design and quality of the construction.”
Rob Hall, Deputy Managing Director at Hill, said: “While we are currently working alongside the University on the North West Cambridge Development, this is a rare opportunity to collaborate directly with the University’s largest college, and we are thrilled to have been chosen on such an important project.
The scheme, designed by bptw architects, incorporates pavilion-style buildings and landscaped green open spaces. The buildings have been designed to reflect the local vernacular, using warm red brick with metal panelling, and each of the properties will also enjoy its own private balcony, patio or private garden.
