Laing O’Rourke has replaced Balfour Beatty at the top of the Contracts League rankings for most work won over the last 12 months.

The firm has been chasing Balfour Beatty for pole position for several months and finally pushed Balfour off the top as the Aberdeen Western Peripheral road dropped out of Balfour’s tally of contracts from July 2014 – June 2015.

As Balfour dropped down to third position, its lowest place in several years, Kier stepped in with the second highest haul of work.

On the monthly rankings, Kier came out on top in June with a £150m hospital project in Basingstoke for the Department of Health.

BAM picked up a £50m job to refurb the Old Admiralty Building in London for the Department of Education, while Graham secured the first stage of the £130m redevelopment of Dover Harbour.

Lend Lease got its International Quarter office development in Stratford off to a flying start with its second office job at the site following a deal to house Transport for London in another project several months ago.

The second office building, worth £71m, will house the Financial Conduct Authority.
