Natural Resources Wales will use the framework to deliver coastal and river defence schemes as well as access roads for forests and other assets under its control.
An invitation to prequalify is set to be issued in the next few months with awards for places on the four-year framework next year.
The framework will be broken up into four lots covering specialist skills.
NRW Civil Engineering Framework Agreement
- Lot 1 — Complex civil engineering, include the construction, modification or maintenance of flood risk assets, gauging weirs, hydrometery stations, fish passes and other assets. Two zones (North and South Wales). Up to £40m.
- Lot 2 — Standard civil engineering, comprises work of a straightforward nature, lower value or risk. Four zones (North East, North West, South East and South West Wales). Up to £25m.
- Lot 3 — Primary infrastructure and associated services construction of primary estate infrastructure including roads, bridges, associated earthworks and drainage, other similar structures and quarrying activities (excluding drilling and blasting). (all Wales). Up to £10m.
- 4. Lot 4 — Secondary infrastructure and associated services involving construction, maintenance, repair and reinstatement of all aspects of estates secondary infrastructure, including roads; bridges and footbridges; tracks; paths and recreational facilities; drainage; and quarrying activities (excluding drilling and blasting). Four zones (North, Mid, South East and South West Wales). Up to £25m.
