The Enquirer revealed last week that 80 jobs are under threat at the firms London Highways Alliance Contract for Transport for London.
Now it is understood that around 110 roles are up for redundancy consultation across Kier’s Area 9 division.
The Area 9 contract for Highways England covers maintenance and improvement work around Birmingham, Coventry and Stoke-on-Trent.
Job losses are expected across all operations from site to office.
It is understood that a fall in expected spending by Highways England has prompted the redundancy plans.
A Kier spekesperson said: “The five year investment programme set out by Highways England is flexible and as a key service provider to them we must be responsive and shape our maintenance workforce to reflect their delivery requirements.”
The Area 9 deal was worth £900m over the initial five years when Mouchel won it in 2014 with a potential three-year extension worth another £500m.
Kier said the job loss plans in London were due to “rationalising, integrating and removing duplication across two sets of highways businesses, which are operating in the same region.”
Kier bought Mouchel for £265m last summer.
