Now known as East Village, the area is already home to more than 6,000 residents across 2,818 homes.
The first element of phase two will involve building two towers rising to 30 and 26 storeys containing 482 flats on land next to Celebration Avenue and Victory Park.
Joint developers Delancey and Qatari Diar selected Mace for the build which is due for completion in 2018. Get Living London will manage the properties upon completion.
