Suppliers are being invited to pitch for upcoming contracts on sites around Essex and East London.

Constructionline is hosting a Meet the Buyer event next where a host of main contractors and clients will be showcasing work opportunities.

The event is sponsored by Bibby Financial Solutions and will take place on Thursday May 5 at the CEME Conference Centre in Rainham.

It is open to all local subcontractors, materials suppliers and consultants.

Wates and housebuilder Hill, as well as South East-based contractors Bolt and Heeks, Durkan, and Gee Construction will all be looking for new suppliers.

Logan Construction is looking to meet with local companies with education experience to bid for work on a £3m project at Becket Keys Church of England School in Brentwood.

Work includes creating an extension to the school and a new timber-frame three-storey teaching block, in addition to the refurbishment of indoor and outdoor community spaces.

Peter Harkin, business quality manager at Logan Construction, said: “Our Becket Keys project is a significant investment for the local community and a fantastic project to be involved in and we are keen to work with a variety of SMEs in the area to help us bring it to life.

“We’re looking forward to meeting a range of local businesses on the day and developing our ever-growing supply chain.”

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet public sector organisations including London Borough of Barnet, London Borough of Waltham Forest, Highways England and NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP).

Andrew Preston, client relationship manager at Constructionline, said: “Our Meet the Buyer events are a great opportunity for all attendees to forge long-term business relationships.

“In addition it allows local firms to gain access to some of the country’s largest major contractors and public sector bodies with significant work programmes in their areas.”

The free event will run from 8.30am until 2pm. Suppliers do not have to be a Constructionline member to attend.
