A column on the scheme is understood to have collapsed during construction work on Wednesday morning.
McAlpine has been on site for a year building 89,500 sq ft of laboratory and office space on the biomedical research campus
A spokesperson for Bruntwood, the developer, told the Manchester Evening News: “We are aware of an incident at our CityLabs 2.0 construction site, on the MFT campus.
“The safety of our customers, employees and contractors is of primary importance and we will be working with our construction partner Sir Robert McAlpine to review procedures on site.
“We wish those injured a speedy recovery and will naturally do all we can to assist the Health and Safety Executive with their investigation.”
Sir Robertt McAlpine declined to comment.
