The 600-staff strong roofing specialist has been sold by Belgian materials giant Etex, which has owned the firm since 1999.
Founded in 1924, Marley is the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of roofing system products, including concrete and clay tiles.
Marley operates across five manufacturing sites and two distribution centres.
David Speakman, general manager at Marley, said: “We are extremely proud of our long heritage and are very excited by the opportunities to grow the company further.
“Inflexion’s industry knowledge gleaned through its investment in builder’s merchants Huws Gray means they truly understand our sector, while their experience in helping expand businesses organically and acquisitively make them an excellent fit for our next stage of growth.”
Simon Turner, managing partner at Inflexion, said: “The brand is exceptionally well regarded, and we look forward to drawing upon our industry experience as we partner with management to build on Marley’s strong market position and product range.”
The acquisition will be fully signed off at the end of this month.
