The Head of Strategic Land is accountable for sourcing and securing strategic residentially lead land which usually requires promotion the planning system to meet Clarion’s growth targets.
You will identify strategic land which is compliant with the Clarion’s Strategic Plan, and assess from a risk and opportunity point of view all legal, technical, planning, sales, and cost aspects of the land opportunity. The ability to produce a high level financial appraisal to ensure the viability of any proposed land promotion. You will devise a successful strategy for each land offer having regard to the site specific circumstances. This is not just about price but will include timings, conditions and the type and terms of the contracts which include options and hybrid promotion agreements.
We are ideally looking for you to have a demonstrable understanding of the development process for residentially lead schemes, along with strong knowledge of technical, planning, sales, financial and legal aspects of assessing and securing residentially lead developments.
You’ll need prior experience managing multidiscipline (internal and external) teams within budget and program, and a proven track record of securing long term residentially led schemes with a builder, consultancy or other similar organisation.
An understanding of the Local Plan process and the Planning Application process is a must.
