The Opportunity
This has created an opportunity for a commercially-minded Operations Manager to join our close-knit team of experts, and lead us into the primary and significant growth opportunities in the UK market. With the London market a start-up environment benefiting from the stability of significant financial backing, this role will identify and deliver commercial opportunities that take ownership of buildings with historic structures, delivering cutting edge sustainable design solutions. Reporting directly to the Managing Director & Board, this is an exciting long-term career development opportunity with high visibility across the whole organisation, that will partner with Interspan’s wider international teams and evolve in alignment with the growth of the business. The Operations Manager will lead the following core elements of growth:
- Forensic Capability – Develop a proposition to provide forensic modelling and testing of existing building fabrics.
- Design and Construct – with our in house design team provide solutions to both clients and contractors that utilise various techniques and methods to allow for the stringing and repurposing of existing structures
- Supply and Installation - Supporting specialist contracts in value engineering across procurement, methods & techniques
Person Specification
Motivated by the opportunity of start-up environments, you are a commercially astute self-starter, relish being in the role of ‘creator/shaper’ and demonstrate key behavioural leadership attributes in relationship management. You have a particular skill for identifying and pursuing commercially-viable business opportunities, and apply your technical credibility to progress opportunities from concept to actuality.
A strong technical base is incredibly important for the role, as is the ability to business partner and influence stakeholders across all levels. You may currently be a Technical/Commercial Project Manager or Structural Engineer who has ‘hit the ceiling’ and are keen to step into an autonomous, self-starting contracting role that gives you the platform to be the key interface for the business in opening new market opportunities.
