Overview
To manage all on-site activities to suit the requirements of NWS Ltd and indeed our Client. Ensure programme dates are achieved, work is undertaken to a professional standard, to a quality finish, whilst in line with all current Health & Safety legislation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Engage with client / CM – attend meetings, establish work content, review contract commitments, and consider programme requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, statutory safety legislation and good practice guides are always adhered to.
- Ensure site conditions are safe and suitable for all.
- Undertake inductions for subcontractors and complete any documentation required. • Production and distribution of ‘Site Reports’ daily – defining progress, NCR’s, VO’s. • Liaise and assist the Contracts Manager with all site related activities. • Manage Subcontractors for quality, performance, safety etc.
- Monitor progress of all on-site activities by daily (or regular) site visits. • Investigate, report and act on ‘non-conformance reports’ and ‘variations’ • Undertake Health & Safety audits, Toolbox Talks, Plant Inspections, etc. • Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of all relevant industry codes, and standards applicable to individual role.
- When required, liaise with external organisations, (main contractor, architects, engineers, and sub-contractors as well as advisory organisations such as the SCI and BCSA)
- Maintain effective, productive, and professional client / supplier relationships. • Act to effectively resolve issues that would prevent successful award of contract or project delivery.
- Employment and supervision of snagging teams for any VO or NCR works.
Job Description
Necessary Skills
The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years’ experience within the steel construction industry.
Must have CSCS Card
Must have SMSTS or SSSTS Certificate
Must be mobile and able to work at any location within the UK
Computer literate incl knowledge of Word, Excel etc
Good understanding of fabrication and erection/site processes.
Good product knowledge of the steelwork industry
Excellent Communication skills.
