Dyke will take over as executive director of Lend Lease’s project management and construction business in the UK and across Europe, the Middle East and Africa from July.
Before joining National Grid, he worked at EDF Energy, Balfour Beatty and Wimpey Construction, where he began his construction career.
Dyke’s appointment fills the vacancy left when Nick Pollard, then Bovis chief executive, exited under a restructuring carried out by Dan Labbard, chief executive of Lend Lease’s EMEA businesses.
Labbad said: “Michael brings with him vast strategic and large scale operational experience.
“His appointment at this time plays a key part in bringing our regional construction platform together and aligns with our strategy to grow a construction business that is dynamic, efficient, and highly competitive.”
