A “Meet the Buyer” event in west London will help major contractors and clients meet new construction suppliers.

The event in Fulham is being hosted by Constructionline and supported by major contractors including Vinci and Kier.

The following clients and contractors have confirmed their attendance:
·         McLaughlin & Harvey Ltd

·         Amicus Horizon

·         Thomas Johnstone Ltd

·         VINCI FM

·         London Borough of Hackney

·         Mears Projects

·         The Facility Architects and Consultants

·         Urbanis Ltd

·         Wandsworth Council

·         Willmott Dixon Interiors

·         London Construction Programme

·         Kier Services

·         The Considerate Constructors Scheme

·         Willis

·         ConstructED

The London Construction Programme local authority procurement body is also looking to set up several framework agreements for:
·         major works;

·         mechanical works;

·         electrical works;

·         landscaping works; and

·         adaptation works for the less able.

The major works framework agreements are being developed by the London Construction Programme for use in general construction works over £100,000 and up to £10m for all London local authorities and other public sector organisations in London.

Andy Preston, client relationship manager from Constructionline, said: “In our experience, both private and public sector clients want to give work to local contractors, and in turn, the contractors are eager to win these tenders.

“However, we understand it is often difficult for contractors and buyers to get opportunities to meet face-to-face, hence the reason for hosting events such as this.

“Helping establish relationships between suppliers and clients is one of the many added-value benefits we provide for our members – we want to help them find and secure work and also make it easier for buyers to find reliable and local construction companies.”

The event is free and suppliers do not have to be registered with Constructionline to attend.
