Latest results from the consultant show a rise in group pre-tax profit to £23.8m for the year to March 31 2013 from £21.6m last time on the back of turnover up to £298.1m from £277.3m.
Hyder took on 114 new staff in the UK during the year to boost total headcount to 1,198.
The recruitment drive came despite a slight dip in UK operating profit to £3.4m from £4m last time as turnover held steady at £75.5m.
Hyder said the slight fall was due to “challenging market conditions, particularly in the highways and property markets.”
The company said: “The UK highways market has been challenging as investment has continued to be delayed, however we have secured a number of projects with the Highways Agency under our existing framework agreements.”
Hyder’s rail business is growing with the firm currently working on more than 100 station projects.
