Developer Hortons’ Estate is in talks with Sisk about delivering the £30m restoration of The Grand on Colmore Row.
Plans drawn up by architect Berman Guedes Stretton will see the derelict building transformed into a luxury hotel with 152 rooms and eight new suites
Midlands Conservation Limited has been working on extensive facade restorations for several months ahead of the main works contract being let.
Hamish McMichael, project director, said: “Hortons’ Estate’s planned restoration and refurbishment of the hotel will be rescuing a building of grace and character that is an important landmark for Birmingham.
“The project will transform the building into a first class hotel and business destination for the city.”
