Material handlers, Aaron Paddon, Mike Berry and Mark Meese, along with the working foreman, Greig Newbigging, found the seal washed up on the rocks on the North Queensferry side of the bridge.
They wrapped the pup up to keep it warm and phoned the Scottish SPCA.
According to the Scottish SPCA, the seal pup was less than a week old and may have drowned if the Balfour team had not taken immediate action.
The pup was taken to the Scottish SPCA’s National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Fishcross, Alloa, where it will be looked after before being released back into the wild once it is fully fit and able to fend for itself.
