The 100,000 sq ft scheme is the first speculative office development in the city for several years.
The client on the job is Salmon Harvester Properties Limited – a joint venture between Salmon Developments and NFU Mutual.
Rorie Henderson, Development Director at Salmon said: “Having announced our intention to start building speculatively, we put the contract out to tender earlier in the Summer and are delighted to have appointed Wates.
“A large crane has now been delivered to site and the building frame will be constructed over the coming weeks. Completion is scheduled towards the end of 2014.
“We have acquired three adjacent sites over the last few years and this is the first phase of our development plans at Temple Quay.”
Gary Campbell-Dykes, Business Unit Director for Wates Construction, Southern Home Counties and South West, said: “As the first speculative office development in Bristol in recent years, Two Glass Wharf is further evidence of the increasing investment in construction projects across the commercial sector.
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Salmon Harvester Properties Limited to create a flagship office development facility at the heart of the city’s changing landscape.”
Alder King has been appointed as sole letting agent and is in discussions with potential tenants.
