Both firms rated top in the bidding for a housing maintenance and improvement framework which saw 10 firms invited to bid.
Although advertised as a £240m four-year framework, the expected capital spend is £40m in year one and £34m in year two.
Two other contractors – Wates and Mears – which were also successful will now have to wait in the wings for two years for a fresh mini competition to allocate the second phase of works.
Work will include improvements to the north London council’s 21,000 strong housing stock, of which 4,500 are now leasehold properties.
The Framework will end in 2017/18 but the call-off arrangements allow for works to be carried out
up until 2020.
The previous decent homes framework included Wates Construction, Mulalley, Lovell Partnership and Apollo.
