The emergency services staged a rescue 30 metres above ground after worried colleagues dialled 999.
Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “We rescued a man who had fallen ill at the controls of a crane.
“The incident was reported at 10.45am and happened at Springfield Road in the city’s Hazlehead area.
“Two appliances from North Anderson Drive were joined at the scene by a height vehicle and an appliance from Central Fire Station.
“Firefighters used the height vehicle to reach the man and help him safely onto the platform, before bringing him to the ground and placing him in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.”
