McNicholas Construction Services has picked-up a wind farm contract after original contractor Askam Construction went under.

McNicholas has now taken on construction of the Jack’s Lane Wind Farm in North West Norfolk.

Developer RES terminated its contract with Askam after the firm went into administration last month.

Gary Scrowther, RES Construction Site Manager, said: “We were disappointed to learn that Askam would be unable to fulfil the contract.

“However, progress has been made through activity such as ongoing ecology work – and we are delighted that our construction programme will remain on schedule.

“We look forward to working with the McNicholas team to combine our expertise and ensure Jacks Lane Wind Farm is constructed on time and to the highest standard.

Turbine components are due to arrive on site in October 2014 as planned and full electricity generation is
targeted for spring 2015.
