The programme will see a new emergency department at University Hospital Ayr and two combined assessment units built at both Ayr and University Hospital Crosshouse.

Pre-construction works get underway today at the University Hospital Ayr, while work is programmed to start at University Hospital Crosshouse in mid-June.

Construction on both sites should be complete by February 2017.
