Dem-Master Demolition will tear down the 1960s former Scottish Provident headquarters in the south west corner of St Andrew Square in the Scottish capital.
Bowmer & Kirkland is now due to be confirmed as main contractor on the job and will start construction works early in 2015.
The speculative £75m development will include 100,000 sq ft of offices, 55,000 sq ft of retail and 10,000 sq ft of flats.
Standard Life Investments Pooled Property Fund entered into a joint venture agreement with B&K’s property arm Peveril Securities to acquire and develop 3-8 St Andrew Square earlier this year.
The striking modern complex should be complete at the end of 2016 and will help to alleviate a shortage of top quality office space in the city centre.
