The long-delayed project has been in the pipeline for several years but work should get underway at the start of 2015.
Morgan Sindall will now work with NHS Property Services to complete the final design and cost analysis in the business case for the project.
This will then go to the boards of the local Clinical Commissioning Group, NHS England and NHS Property Services this autumn for final approval.
In January NHS England confirmed it had approved the funding needed to build the hub.
John Harness, Local Area Team Co-ordinator for NHS Property Services in Lincolnshire and Leicestershire, said: “The people of Market Harborough have waited many years to see this new facility built and I’m sure there have been times when they thought it would never happen, but I can assure them that it is now happening.”
Once completed the new hub will become home to several health services currently located at Harborough District Hospital and the Welland Unit.
These include mental health services, GP Services including minor injuries, radiography and ultrasound specialist services.
