Homes by Skanska was set-up in 2011 but was closed last September as the contractor concentrated on more profitable sectors.
Crest Nicholson has bought the site in the Trumpington area of Cambridge which has planning permission for 274 homes.
Skanska sold the first plot of its residential development land bank in Cambridge for £7.8m earlier this year to Hill Residential.
