The deal comes as Russells moves to the fit-out stage of 330-bedroom, £25m hotel located in the Piccadilly area of the city, fronting London Road.
Work on the next project for Motel One will start in March to build a 300-room, seven-storey building in Cross Street.
Russells will demolish vacant offices retaining the historic stone façade before building a new 37,000 sq ft scheme includes a ground floor restaurant, retail unit and onsite parking for 25 cars.
Head of development at Motel One, Stefan Lenze, said: “Russells’ work at our Motel One in Manchester, Piccadilly gives us confidence that it has the local knowledge and expertise to ensure that our next Manchester venue is delivered on time and to our exact specification.”
Russells director Gareth Russell said: “Picking up our second contract for Motel One is testament to the standard of work we are delivering in Piccadilly and builds on our reputation for constructing hotels in constrained city centre locations.”
Motel One on Cross Street has been designed jointly by architects stephenson:ISA Studio and Leach Rhodes Walker.
