Clark was managing director of Balfour Beatty’s major projects division before becoming an executive director in a management reshuffle in November 2013.
He left Balfour last October.
Clark will now be responsible for all of O’Rourke’s construction and specialist businesses in Scotland.
He said: “I am delighted to be joining Laing O’Rourke as Director for Scotland.
“Scottish market conditions are clearly improving and there are a number of interesting opportunities arising that are ideally suited to Laing O’Rourke’s innovative approach to DfMA, Digital Engineering and integrated delivery capabilities. I’m looking forward to driving this forward.”
Laing O’Rourke Europe Hub MD Paul Sheffield said: “Bob has fantastic credentials having been responsible for major projects across sectors in his previous role, including North Lanarkshire schools, Fife Hospital and extensions to both Glasgow and Edinburgh airports.
“Importantly, his experience and understanding of the market in Scotland will prove invaluable as Laing O’Rourke looks to make the most of new opportunities and further extend the benefits of our Unique Business Offer to clients and their customers.”
