Five shortlisted for Thamesmead Waterfront design

Lendlease has whittled down the design teams in the race to masterplan the £8bn Thamesmead Waterfront scheme in south east London.

The winning team will work alongside housing group Peabody and Lendlease, which have entered into joint venture, to plan and deliver the new town centre of 11,500 homes.

Part of the design brief will be to meet the challenges of the post-pandemic world.

A winner of the competition is expected to be announced in April.

“We’ve been very encouraged by the work we’ve seen so far and look forward to announcing a winning team later this year.”
