Demolition deal awarded on Chancery Lane refurb

General Demolition Ltd has been appointed as demolition and enabling works contractor for the initial phase of the redevelopment of 5 Chancery Lane in central London.

Development Manager LS Estates is overseeing the £200m project for client LKTMJ Limited.

Retrofitting of 5 Chancery Lane will create approximately 100,000 sq ft of modern office space between Holborn and Fleet Street.

The retrofit scheme has been designed by Foggo Associates and includes the demolition of the existing top floor and the incorporation of two new floors using a CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) structure.

The demolition phase of work begins this month with completion in November 2023.
