Turnover jumped 56% to £253m in the year to 30 April 2025, up from £163m a year earlier, as the business ran an average of 10 live construction projects across residential and commercial work.
Pre-tax profit rose to £7.6m from £6.5m, but operating margin slipped to 3.2% from 3.7% the previous year, reflecting a significant provision taken against costs incurred on a project that was later cancelled, alongside a £1.3m impairment charge against work in progress.
Despite the margin pressure, Domis strengthened its balance sheet. Cash at bank climbed to nearly £11m from £7m and net assets increased to £24.7m.
New starts last year included Obsidian, a 25-storey, 250-flat scheme in Manchester, the Rylands city centre office redevelopment providing 500,000 sq ft of commercial space, Viadux phase two enabling works for a 76-storey tower incorporating a Nobu hotel and branded flats, and Abbey Woods phases two and three.
Looking ahead, Domis said it is preferred contractor on seven projects with a combined value of £496m, including new client relationships with Property Alliance Group and Muse.
