The application proposes a 27-storey block with 673 purpose-built student bedrooms alongside a 23-storey tower providing 380 co-living homes. A further 80 affordable homes are also included within the wider development.

Designed by architect CJCT, the scheme occupies a vacant site on Millennium Way, immediately next to the Silvertown Tunnel approach roads and opposite a former gasholder earmarked for separate redevelopment.

Planning documents argue there is a shortage of student accommodation in the area, citing a deficit of 1,871 student bedspaces across the wider catchment and 581 within Greenwich, even allowing for schemes already in the pipeline.

Ravensbourne University has backed the proposals, saying demand for student accommodation is “extremely high”.

The proposal is the latest in a string of student housing schemes planned across the Peninsula.

Nearby sites include Scape’s proposed three-tower development on the former gasholder land, Fairview’s revised Boord Street scheme and Knight Dragon’s plans to introduce around 1,000 student rooms within the wider Greenwich Peninsula masterplan.
