The private builder will deliver 75 affordable homes in a six-storey apartment block for regeneration specialist Muse and Oldham Council on the former car park beside the Mumps Metrolink stop.

The first phase forms part of the wider Prince’s Gate regeneration, creating a new residential gateway into the town centre.

Designed to meet the Future Homes Standard, the homes are expected to achieve energy performance around 70-75% better than current building regulations.

Construction is due to complete in summer 2028.

Anthony Dillon, managing director for Willmott Dixon North, said construction was due to complete in summer 2028.

Prince’s Gate adds to Willmott Dixon’s growing town centre housing portfolio across the North.

The contractor is currently delivering 81 net zero homes at Station Gardens in Rochdale, 82 homes at the £24m Hough Top scheme in Leeds and is preparing to start work on the £114m Stage regeneration project in Luton, which includes 292 apartments.
