If you have a track record of sales, developing strong relationships, and effectively promoting a well-recognised brand, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join our highly successful sales team, leading and driving commercial success within the North of England.
What Do We Expect from You?
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for the promotion of all Boon Edam products to end-users, clients, architects, main contractors, façade contractors, and access control integrators in the North of England. The North sales territory is a consistently high-performing area, and we are looking for someone to join the business and continue that trend.
The most important part of the role in the first 3-6 months is to create relationships with our existing customer base to ensure that order intake and profit remain high and that the Senior Management Team's expectations are met. The quote bank of open opportunities is at a great level, and forecasts suggest that the North sales region is in good health, and high performance is expected into 2024 and beyond.
We are looking for someone to continue developing the area and overachieving by seeking and developing new customers, especially in the physical security market. Boon Edam is well-recognised in the architectural community and in major cities but is less well-known regionally and within the access control integration market.
As an indication, the expectation in terms of order intake in the North is £2 million+ of sales at an agreed profit margin.
The North sales area ranges as far south as Derbyshire, across to North Wales, and as north as Teesside, across to Lancaster, and everything in between. To be successful and ensure the best coverage of the North Sales Area, the successful candidate should live within the region, ideally with access to all areas within a two-hour drive.
The role is home-based, with a mix of field activity and time spent at their home office. It generally will be 3 days out and 2 days in, but this will vary depending on the demands of the role. Although the role should not entail overnight accommodation on a regular basis, there will be an occasional need to stay away from home, either in the UK or in the Netherlands, so flexibility in working hours is essential. You will also require a full driving licence as well as a valid, in-date passport.
What Skills and Experience are Necessary to Perform This Role?
- Proven sales track record
- Highly motivated and self-sufficient
- Knowledge of CRM systems
- Experience in using C4C/ SAP would be advantageous but not essential
- Outstanding organisational, analytical and presentation skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent communicator able to liaise with and build customer, supplier, and partner rapport
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or higher
