About the role:
As an Assistant Design Coordinator in our Decommissioning team within Gas Construction, you'll support with agile, fast paced, complex decommissioning projects for a multitude of gas assets which have reached the end of their operational life.
We’re seeking someone with a strong interest in design. You'll be at the forefront supporting the detailed design process which underpin the delivery of decommissioning projects. You will provide support during the detailed design, construction and project closure process and help to drive simplification, optimisation, standardisation, and innovation.
Communication with stakeholders including internal subject matter experts and external supply chain partners is key so
that a coordinated approach is embraced.
Working closely with Design Engineers and Project Managers, you'll arrange, manage, and coordinate technical design meetings to ensure that designs are on track and respond to technical queries and requests for information. You’ll contribute towards formal process safety assessments (FPSA’s) to ensure that designs are fit for purpose.
We're keen to grow the future designer professionals of tomorrow. Therefore, for those keen to progress in their role to become a Design Coordinator, we'll give you the support and tools needed to succeed.
Travel will be part of the job – we have a national portfolio. You'll spend up to 50% of your working week travelling and working on sites supporting in the delivery of the projects with home working in-between. Therefore, it’s essential you hold a full UK driving licence.
What we're looking for:
Essential -
- Design coordination experience, ideally in the gas industry
- Willingness to travel, attend meetings and visit sites up to 50% of your working week
- Full UK car driving licence
Desirable -
- Minimum of a HNC/HND level qualification (or equivalent) in and engineering or construction discipline
- Working towards or willing to undertake a part time engineering course/degree
- Construction/site experience
