National Gas Transmission (NGT) has an exciting and important role in net zero and in leading a fair energy transition for the UK. We will do this by developing the green gas system of tomorrow, while delivering the natural gas needs of today.
About the role:
We're looking for a Lead Estimator to join our gas construction team to manage and develop project cost estimates and be accountable for the development of the estimating methodology and defining the associated level of confidence. You'll work with the project team to establish the project scope and identify gaps in the available information that's essential for project cost estimation and risk.
You'll define what's needed to improve the quality of the available data for the purpose of producing more robust estimates and challenge the available detail and obtain the relevant missing information to develop the assumptions, track progress and manage the relevant governance reviews and sign-offs.
This position will report directly to the Senior Estimator. You'll undertake estimations for gas construction projects and update processes and procedures for estimation. Interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential for this role as you'll be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
As part of our hybrid working approach, this role offers a mix of office working in Warwick and home working. You'll need to be able to travel into the Warwick office approx. 2-3 times a week.

Essential -
- Estimating experience (ideally in the utilities industry)
- Ability to interpret technical and cost information
- Full UK car driving licence
