Our Telecoms business provides the management and delivery of national and regional network infrastructure to major communications providers. This includes installations, improvements, repairs and 24 hour emergency response networks to high speed fibre networks. We apply our expertise at each stage of the project lifecycle to ensure smooth delivery to our customers and clients.
We are looking to recruit a Programme Delivery Manager covering both BAU and Major Programme works. Reporting into the Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will be to manage all production and associated functions of the Network Build on and off site, including pro-actively liaising with both the field operations direct labour teams and direct with the sub-contractors.
What you'll be doing day to day
- Maintaining all daily objectives set by the Operations Manager
- Main focal point for all escalations from the Supervisors for problem solving
- Provide direction and focus to the co-ordinators and production teams
- Design a project that delivers the objectives required to meet or exceed KPI target
- Determine the resource requirements for the completion of all works
- Manage productivity and assign roles, tasks and responsibilities to complete all work streams
- Close working relationship with the Supervisor, Co-ordinator and QC Team for accurate recording of all workstreams
- Regular reviews of project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve construction performance
- Challenging the Commercial team to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective approach is used to deliver outstanding projects
- Strong leadership with all teams
- Efficient communication and engagement with all parties
- Development of strong team working relationships
- Developing accurate project programmes for weekly updates
- Ensuring compliance to procedures through weekly/monthly returns
- Cost risk management and early identification of problematic issues on site
- Ownership of projects, costs, programmes, documentations, site activities and procurement
- Weekly submission of information through T2C including weekly timesheets, material sheets and plant & site checklists
- Attend daily managers call & daily update call
- Weekly progress reports
- Weekly meetings with the Client via conference calls/face to face meetings
- Regular updates into the cable Co Ord with meaningful updates to be presented onto force
- Updating various different stake holders across a variety of work streams within Virgin Media
- Appraisals for team as required
- Uploading documents/information to company systems as and when necessary in line with business requirements
- Quality assurance
The experience we're looking for in a candidate
- Excellent fibre splicing and cabling knowledge, Virgin Media network experience would be advantageous
- NRSWA accreditation to supervisory level
- Understanding of Microsoft Office packages
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive and enthusiastic approach to work
- Good organisation skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Results orientated, whilst maintaining ability to meet strict quality standards
- High level of customer service for both internal and external stakeholders
