The hotel team behind the famous London Ivy restaurant plan to convert a 1920’s town garage in Mayfair, which was recently listed grade II, into a 85-bedroom hotel.
Westminster Council approved the plan to raise the height of the building with two new storeys to create a six-floor property.
Once construction starts, the development will take 18-20 months with the aim being to open early in 2013.
Specialist hotel architect ReardonSmith designed the luxury hotel at 8 Balderton Street, which will incorporate an Antony Gormley sculpture in one guestroom.
