Details of the work were highlighted in the housebuilder’s annual report which revealed that Pidgley took advantage of Berkeley’s “own build scheme”.
The scheme allows eligible employees to “enter into an arrangement, at commercial rates, with the group for the construction or renovation of their own home”.
The work is believed to have been carried-out at Pidgley’s luxury 16th century house in Windsor.
The annual report also revealed that Pidgley collected a remuneration package for the year to April 30 worth £2.4m.
He was paid a salary of £750,000 with a bonus of £1.5m.
