The developer in partnership with Trafford Council plans a retail-led town centre scheme, which will see a new 3,000 seat ice stadium, 15,000 sq m of retail space, luxury apartments, 5,000 sq m of office space and a 100 bed hotel.

The 5-acre site is also being considered as a possible location for the new Altrincham General Hospital. An announcement is expected in November.

Trafford Council’s planning development control committee approved the scheme’s outline planning application in February 2010.
