May Gurney, Serco and Morgan Ashurst will carry out extensive refurbishment of surface stations. The job known as Lot 5 is estimated to be worth around £12.1m.
Balfour Beatty, Bam Nuttall, and May Gurney will carry out refurbishment and replacement works to bridges, retaining walls, culverts, earthworks and drainage.
The Lot 4 job is estimated to be worth around £8.3m.
The contracts are two of nine lots tendered this year by the Tyne & Wear Passenger Transport Executive
