Both men were buried under tonnes of bricks at the site in the village of Worlingworth near Eye, and died despite attempts to revive them by the Fire Service and paramedics.
Kevin Ruffles, 57, of Parsons Hill, Hollesley, and Matthew Skeet, 19, of Orchard Close, Melton, were working on farm buildings in Worlingworth. converting the 18th century maltings barn into three homes.
Firefighters were called out after a report that a man in his 30s was trapped under rubble and, when they arrived at the scene, found a second victim trapped.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue group manager, Ian Bowell said: “On arrival, the first crew found that the gable end of an old barn, which was being renovated, had collapsed. Two people were heavily trapped in the rubble.
“Fire crews and paramedics tried to resuscitate them but sadly the first person was confirmed dead quite quickly by the air ambulance doctor. The second person lost his life 20 minutes later after efforts to revive him.”
