The latest design and build job is to build the library and the landmark learning resource tower at the new campus.
Consultant designers have developed the 240,000 sq ft buildings to stage H under the Royal Institute of British Architects plan of work.
Building warrant has been applied for under a staged approach and the final stages of the warrant applications will be submitted by the end of october 2010.
Final approvals relating to internal fit-out, fire and M&E are anticipated to be received in march/april 2011. This will leave the contractor to obtain the final elements of building warrant approval.
The building job was first put out to tender last year but has since been rescoped and more design work carried out.
RGU wants to create a new base for engineering, architecture and the arts and sciences at an eight-acre site next to its current Aberdeen campus.
The planned £170m development will ultimately see all of the University’s academic activities located at the Garthdee Campus in a new 340,000 sq ft complex.
