The Balfour Beatty subsidiary has taken-on Rok’s former construction operations in Milton Keynes, Gatwick and Heathrow and the social housing businesses based in the South West and North West of England.
Balfour said the deal will add £100m a year to group revenue.
Balfour Beatty Chief Executive Ian Tyler, said: “The strategic fit between the operations of Rok and Mansell, reinforced by the quality of the Rok management team and staff, presents a big opportunity for us to develop our UK regional business on attractive terms to our shareholders.”
The remaining construction operations in Reading, Crawley, Bristol and Exeter as well as the social house building activities in Leeds do not form part of the sale and will now be sold with approximately 235 redundancies across these sites.
Administrator PwC said it continues to retain a team of people across the Group to assist them in their duties including in the winding down of the Groups operations.
Jeremy Webb, director and joint administrator, PwC said: “We are delighted that we have been able to secure a sale of part of the business hence preserving employment for 381 people.
“This is tinged with disappointment that there was not sufficient interest in the other parts and hence the redundancies that have been made today.”
Essex based contractor Chigwell Construction is believed to still be interested in the social housing repair and maintenance operations covering London, Essex and Hertfordshire.
Bosses at Chigwell are currently looking through the contracts up for grabs after a host of other firms dropped out of the running.
Chigwell has recently opened a new office in west London and is looking to expand in the capital and surrounding counties by targeting work with housing associations.
