The 22-year-old was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Health and Safety Executive officials and Cheshire Police are looking into safety measures at the Torkington Road site in Wilmslow.
The brickie was working for Burslem-based SCL Construction when the tragedy struck on Friday 7 January.
Sergeant Andy Miller, who attended the incident, said “The male was working on site when a pallet of bricks collapsed on top of him causing fatal injuries.
“The matter is now being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive with the assistance of Wilmslow CID.”
An inquest has been opened and adjourned, a spokeswoman for Cheshire police said.
